Why Hire A Divorce Coach?

For ongoing support before, during, and following your divorce.

Is Divorce For Me?

Deciding to divorce is a huge decision, involving seismic changes in most areas of your life. This is time for a coach - a 'thinking partner' - to help you sort through the myriad of questions running amok in your head, and understanding how each decision you make will play out for you, for your kids, down the road.

Before embarking on this journey, consider: am I truly at an impasse with my spouse or just entangled in a huge power-struggle? What other options have I considered? Am I prepared to take on change, and do I know what my triggers are? Am I prepared to co-parent, or to single-parent?

The Business of Divorce

Which divorce route is best for me? Mediator, attorney, a collaborative divorce team, (which includes multiple specialists such as attorneys, therapists, Certified Divorced Financial Planners, Realtors, etc.) or 'going it' solo? What paperwork is required, and how will I organize it? How much should I share with my children, my friends, my family? How do I handle difficult conversations?

A divorce coach prepares you for the 'business of divorce' by providing valuable education and support surrounding the process itself, a glimpse into the obstacles you can expect to encounter in your situation, tools for gathering important financial       information, and coaching around difficult conversations with your soon to be ex, family members, attorneys, etc.

Post Divorce - Recovery and Transition

Though your divorce agreement has been signed   and you are no longer living with your spouse, your life is still likely to be in flux for a while. Divorce is not a single event but, rather, an evolving process.

With so many new roles and responsibilities on your plate, and so little time to 'adjust' to them - especially if you have children at home - time management and personal resource allocation may become a greater challenge. However...

this time also presents an opportunity for you to take stock of what's working in your life, what isn't, and redirect your efforts toward a future of your own design. This is a time when support and guidance are of particular value as you step out of your comfort zone into new possibilities, while letting go of old beliefs and ill-serving habits.
